Bringing Retirees Back to the Workforce

The Client: North American Industry Association

The Problem: During COVID, over 2.5 million Americans retired five years faster than expected. As an association for an industry suffering from acute labor shortages, our client wanted to understand the degree to which retirees could be enticed back to the workforce.

Our Approach: Labor & Secondary Data Sources | Quant Survey & Experiment

Our quantitative analysis produced multiple retiree personas based on respondents’ expressed needs for working conditions. We also executed a limited experiment to understand tradeoffs between factors such as flexibility, job responsibility, wages/benefits, and health and socialization.

Our Results. Our work allowed the Association to provide its members with insights on how to design work arrangements that could entice older workers back to the workforce.
